This period marked a dramatic increase in production and export, establishing Bangladesh as a major player in the global textile market. Over the past four decades, the industry has rooted itself deeply, showing significant advancements in material quality and market share.
🌼One of the critical milestones for the RMG sector was the fiscal year 2022, when exports soared to USD 42.61 billion, up from USD 31.46 billion the previous year. This substantial growth highlights the industry's resilience and ability to adapt to changing market demands. The rise in exports can be attributed to the increase in both the prices and quality of the orders received.

🌼However, challenges loom on the horizon. The EU-Vietnam trade agreement poses a potential threat to Bangladesh's dominance in the garment export market. This agreement could enable Vietnam to surpass Bangladesh in apparel exports to the EU, given Vietnam's competitive edge in terms of pricing and production capabilities.
